Mitchell Richmond was drafted fifth overall by the Golden State Warriors in 1988 and named NBA Rookie of the Year. Alongside Tim Hardaway and Chris Mullin he formed Run TMC — the highest-scoring trio in the league in 1990-91. That same stretch he took bronze in Seoul with Team USA.
Traded to Sacramento in 1991, he spent seven seasons as the face of the franchise and made six straight All-Star teams. In 1995 he was named All-Star Game MVP in Phoenix. In 1996 he won gold in Atlanta with Dream Team III.
He closed a fourteen-year career in 2002 as an NBA champion alongside Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant, and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame with the Class of 2014 in Springfield.
